Some extreme truths of VPN, which you did not know before!

Some extreme truths of VPN, which you did not know before!

VPN, whose full name is Virtual Private Network, whenever it comes to online security and privacy, VPN comes to the forefront. If you haven't lived in a primitive cave for the past few years, you've seen VPN ads on various websites, in videos of your favorite YouTubers, in different places.

As time goes on, VPN companies are spending money like water on advertisements and you and I are also taking VPN service with our eyes closed. But wait a minute, as I said at the beginning, I did not write anything against any VPN company or complete VPN service in this article. VPN is a really necessary thing, but I will discuss how much it will cost in 2020. So let's get to know some extreme truths about VPN

VPN stands for Military-Grade Security .

VPN companies often mention in their advertisements that they provide military grade security. Your entire Internet traffic is encrypted and taken to the server through a secret tunnel. In the meantime, even if the hacker or your ISP tries, you will not be able to decode your internet packets.

Well, VPN really does this, encrypting data and transmitting it through secret tunnels, but it's nothing special. Because you may have noticed; When you enter almost any website including Google, YouTube, Gmail, Wirebd, a green lock mark appears in the corner of the address bar of the browser. In that case the website is working using HTTPS protocol. I wrote an article a long time ago about how this particular protocol works.

However, when a site uses an SSL certificate, all data exchanged with that site becomes encrypted. If the correct "key" is not used, the data does not come in a readable position. And almost every website today, your banking website, every Android app, iOS app works using this HTTPS protocol.

No matter how many packets a hacker collects from your network, he will find nothing in a simple attack. This means that the previous hack attacks do not work at all. So even if you don't use VPN, your internet traffic will be safe in this case, which VPN is not able to make more secure.

Websites that are still following the HTTP protocol can be easily viewed from your browser's address bar with Not Secure next to them. If you avoid those websites, the work is over.

Military grade security refers to the use of AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) by VPN companies. Butt HTTPs protocols already use AES, so it's not special at all.

VPN protects you from ISP surveillance.

Since each of your Internet traffic is sent to the ISP e-server, the ISP can easily monitor your entire Internet activity and create a profile on you. The ISP can then sell your private data to a third party company. If you use a VPN, your ISP will not know for yourself which website you are visiting or which video you are streaming, right?

Well, it's not that easy at all. Yes, if you do not use a VPN, your ISP can see your Internet traffic, which means you can see which website you are connected to. But if that site uses HTTPs protocol then your ISP cannot see which page of the site you are viewing.

For example: Right now your ISP knows you are surfing this website https://wirebd.com . But your ISP will not know that you are on this page https://sobuzbanglatv.blogspot.com/ . However, I accept that only from history, your ISP can create a good profile in your name. But how do you know if you are 100% safe using VPN?

If you use a VPN, your ISP can't see the data, but your VPN provider can see everything, so they can decode and send the request and understand the server request. So how do you know for sure that VPN is not selling your data? Here your ISPO is not your cousin, and VPN company is not your mother's belly either, right?

Well, let's say your VPN company is much better, they don't sell data. But even then you are not safe. Websites you visit use a variety of trackers and cookies, which you can track whenever you want and create profiles about your internet habits. So in this case but VPN will not be able to save you.

VPN blocks help to unblock sites.

Yes, this can be a valid reason to use VPN. These days many websites and online services are being blocked by the government in our country for no reason. The government is shutting down blogs like Reddit, Blogger.com, Google Cloud Domain, Medium for no reason. So VPN can be used to use these.

Or VPN is a good solution to unblock any online service that is not available in your country. However, VPN is not the only solution in this case. You can also use proxies, tor, web proxies, if you think the price of VPN is too high and if there is no private work involved.

VPN does not save the log?

Well, I applaud if VPN companies don't really save any logs. Many VPN companies do huge marketing, we don't save any logs. This means that the main selling point of many is not to save the log.

Very good, but what is 100% reliable? You never know if they'll keep a log. You have to keep believing. But who will guarantee you that you are really cheating or not? Maybe the government has a thin line with their server, which you don't need to know, right?

Well, I assume they have no line with any government. But what do they actually do with any legal notice to them? Directly says they do not have a log? Or then suddenly the log comes out of nowhere? Well, at least I didn't go down without explaining myself first. Or a hacker can hack into an employee's account and gain access to a server, can't it? Recent Twitter attack but that's how it was done.

So? Has VPN become completely unnecessary? Well, if you need to view geo-restricted content, you need to unblock blocked sites, you can use VPN if you want to pretend to be a user from one country to another.

But if you connect to public WiFi, you have to use VPN, if you don't use VPN, the password of the bank site will be stolen, if you use VPN, you are 100% safe and you can do whatever you want online, now you know the truth! So many thanks so far today for bothering to read this post to the end.

Hope everybody on this site also had a great day.  Stay  well, stay healthy, stay safe with Sobuz  Bangla  TV . Thanks. God bless you.
