Participate in the tree planting festival using the Ecosia search engine.
Every now and then we find a lot of things on the internet. Some spend hours on the Internet. Discussions about its negative aspects can be heard all the time. But here also does a lot of good work. One such initiative is 'Ecosia' (Ecosia - the search engine that plants trees). Anyone can take part in the tree planting festival through Ecoshia.
One such search engine was founded in 2009 by Christian Kroll, a new entrepreneur from Berlin. That search engine called Ecosia works just like Google search engine. But instead of enriching rich owners like Google, 60 percent of Ecosia's dividends are spent on planting trees in different parts of the world.
Kroll traveled to South America and Nepal a few years ago. That's when he realized that indiscriminate cutting of trees was one of the causes of poverty in those areas. Because in a large part of Peru, many acres of forest were cleared for cocaine cultivation. According to Kroll, It is very easy to earn a living from trees. But because of that a large number of trees had to be planted. It was not easy for him to spend that money or time alone. That's when Kroll, a business administration student, came up with the idea of starting Ecosia. Dividends are distributed from the advertising revenue of Ecosia. So every time you click on Ecosia, it helps to plant more trees. Ecosia authorities say that if a person searches Ecoshia 40 times, a tree is planted. Currently, 6 million people across the country are searching for Ecosia. And all of those people have helped plant more than 54 million trees through Ecoshia. In this way, the forests of the San Martin region of Peru, once empty for cocaine cultivation, have become green again.
However, the grievances of Kroll and Ecosia authorities need to reach more people with their search engine. Only then can we make some progress in making the world green. Because now 90 percent of the people around the world use Google search engine. Only one percent of Germans search for Ecosia. As a result, Ecosia has so far spent only nine million euros on tree planting. Which indicates that the level of pollution around the world has reached a certain level. Kroll says that if Ecosia gets only 10 percent of Google's market, they will be able to prevent global warming and green half of the world.
