Ethical Hacking free courses: Episode 04; Wireless Networking (Basic 01)

Ethical Hacking free courses: Episode 04; Wireless Networking (Basic 01)

Ethical Hacking Free Course: Episode 04, Welcome to Wireless Networking (Basic 01), in the last episode we learned all about networking. Today we will talk about wireless networking, so let's not talk too much, let's get started.

What is a wireless network?

And
wireless network is a network powered by radio waves. It's basically the same as the other 10 LAN connections but here instead of wires multiple computers are connected via radio waves. Here computer means you can hold mobile and you can also hold your computer. But if you want to connect with each other, you have to take the help of any medium, such as WiFi router, if you want to connect to the Internet, you have to connect to the router first, then you can connect to the Internet. So you must have understood that now let's come to the next word, the question may come to your mind whether the wireless network also has LAN, PAN, WAN, MAN or not?

Yes, there are friends. You need to understand that wireless is just a network system. Wireless networks are not connected in the same way as normal Ethernet connections or cable connections. The only difference is in this place. Wireless networks also have LAN, PAN, WAN, MAN.

Let's know briefly about these: What is Wallace Network!

Wireless Local Area Network or WLAN

Before discussing WLAN, let me say that I will not discuss it in detail, not just about it, but about all other networks, because these have been discussed before.
Before understanding WLAN, you need to understand what is LAN?

LAN is a network that connects multiple computers to each other via a cable. But if you have a question, then we use broadband, that is also through our internet through LAN line. Just then your head becomes a crescent, but there is nothing to worry about here. You just think in a cold head that the computer you are using has a private IP but why does another IP show up when you check your IP on the internet? Because your IP is counted as your IP then it means your private IP is hidden but why? Now think a little more, you just took the connection from your ISP? Nah, many more have taken it all, but the same problem is appearing, but why, why, why?

This is because you are in the middle of the local area network but it is subject to your ISP. If your computer is my computer, Sajal Bhai's computer is connected to a computer, then it will be a local area network. And the computer from which you are  controlled  is the computer that your ISP has. This is exactly the reason why if you download from your ISP's FTP server, you get a much better speed that you will not get from other computers connected to the Internet. But when you are going to access another computer, it must be outside your local area with the help of your ISP's computer and this is the reason why your private IP does not show as your IP.

There has been a lot of talk, brother, but now let's talk about WLAN. Does that mean you have to? Do not understand the matter? I mean, then came back and took over again, you already knew thahale understand that we have no money, I  did not

In fact, just change what I have said about LAN. You used cable in LAN but WLAN you are using radio wave. Now you can think of your computer that will control everything. Hey brother, there is no router, it is the job of the router. It will connect you to the radio and control everything you do. If you still don't understand then the best example is brother did you play mini militia? If you are playing, what do you do? You sit down with more of your friends and connect everyone from your mobile and start playing. But think where are you connected? How? You are connected through radio waves and you are connected with your friends. This means you have WLAN connected. Just because your phone is doing the work of the router at the same time.

One thing I know you will have a lot of thoughts and questions in your head will be discussed more about LAN and WLAN. But  you can't understand anything if you discuss so much in the basic episode. So this time it goes to the next story.

Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WMAN)

Do you understand what I mean by WMAN? Simply put, WMAN is the wireless version of MAN, where wire or cable was used in the MAN network. WMAN means wireless means radio wave. Here too, if you want to understand the WMAN network, you have to understand the MAN network first. MAN is a metropolitan area network if the metropolitan area network here means a new interface connecting many LAN lines together. As I live in Dhaka city, this time LAN connection has been installed in different places of my city, Now all the lines have covered our Dhaka city. Now this is the metropolitan area network. But the biggest example of this is your broadband company. Now if you connect a lot of LAN lines with wireless to cover your city and set up a lot of places and through that you cover the whole city, then that is the wireless metropolitan area network.

Personal Area Network (PAN)

After hearing the name, you may have understood what PAN is like! Yes, that's right you can now become known as a Lord of the Rings. Now you can say brother you said PAN here but WPAN did not say why? In fact, when it comes to PAN, the issue of wireless comes to the fore, moreover, many people may not know about this issue, so I did not write anything separately. As a great example of PAN, you can take the hot spot of your mobile. Where you are spreading the wave with your mobile and there are many more in your network. One thing to know, however, is the PAN network but a smaller version of the LAN network. Because if you want to make PAN network, you will definitely have to make LAN or WLAN. Hope you understand.

Virtual Private Server (VPN)

It is clear from the name that we have heard this name a long time ago. But it's not software, it's basically a network. Let's understand then, VPN is basically a server centric network (server is meant to mean). What is the server now? Server here means a computer placed in another place. It actually has no physical location but many people from many parts of the world can be connected to this server. In many cases it is called EPN or Enterprise Private Network because in many cases many people buy and use it.

Home router complete setup

Many may take it as unreasonable writing but believe me it is not unreasonable even if you think it is unreasonable. You can't be an ethical hacker if you can't provide your own security. Moreover, you can hack a lot of things just by hacking the router. You will be taught in detail. So let's find out how to set up a home router in a complete way.

Basic configuration and connection

Basic Configuration In this step you will know how to connect the router and the general configuration. Then let's find out

1. First connect your router to the LAN line.

2. Now look at the back of your router, there are some ports or hubs, connect your Ethernet cable to them and connect it to your computer's LAN port. If someone doesn't want to use an Ethernet cable, you can see a password in the box on the back of your router or on the back of the route. Now you connect your Wi-Fi with that password. Although some routers do not have automatic connections.

3. Now go to any browser of your computer or mobile device and enter this IP 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. This is because your local IP is the default on almost all routers.

4. A page like the one in front of you means login page. Login with default username and password. Since I use a TP-Link router, my default username and password is admin: admin. But not all companies have the same default username and password. To find out, read the instruction book of your router. If 80% of Wi-Fi users use TP-Link.

5. You will now get a page like the one above although not all routers have the same interface but the rules are the same for almost all routers. Now you click on the Quick Setup page. Then you will be taken to a new page.

Now you will get a page like above, if you do not get the first step, then there may be an option to do Next. However, after you enter this page, you click Auto-Detection and click Next. Because if you don't know what your connection is, it will take you to the automatic set up page. If your WAN connection is a PPPoE connection, you will get such a page. Now you login with your username and password. If you do not know this, contact your ISP and get the username and password.

If you have a  Static IP  or  Real Ip   , you will see a page like the one below, put your IP address and gateway mask there and save everything. You will get these from your ISP company.

Wi-Fi set up

Since you will run Wi-Fi, you have bought a router, now you need to set up Wi-Fi. Let's see how to set up Wi-Fi.

1. First you go to Wireless or Wireless Settings, from there you name your SSID or your Wi-Fi and create your password.

2. Select WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK as the password encryption of Wi-Fi. Because this is the most updated Wi-Fi encryption format.

How to make your Wi-Fi more secure?

Security is the most important thing, because if you can't provide enough security to your Wi-Fi, your Wi-Fi is likely to be hacked at any time. So what else can you do to keep your Wi-Fi safe? Don't get tense, Sobuz Bangla TV is by your side.

1. The biggest mistake we make is that we don't change the default username and password of our router but this is the biggest mistake. Because it is not right to use the default username and password in anything. So you change it very quickly. How to do? First you go to the control panel of the router> System Tools> Password and you change your password and username.

2. Another mistake we make is that our Wi-Fi passwords are short and simple. But this is a serious mistake, you should never keep your password below 15 words. Be sure to include some special words in the middle, such as:.

3. Many times we do not enable Fairwall on our router. But it's very important because Fairwall is a protective wall against everything, and if you don't enable it, you realize how stupid you are. So enable the fairwall of your router very quickly.

4. Disable WPS. If you don't use your router in the office or don't need WPS, don't forget to enable WPS.

5. Don't forget to use WEP as password encryption. WPA / WPA2 These are now vernable, so the new encryption update is WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK. You must use this encryption format.

How do you select a strong password?

A lot of times when we give our passwords with small passwords and say as a reason I don't remember the big password, but it's not a logical thing. If you don't know how to make a strong password? Here are some steps you can take to begin the process of preparation for mediation.

1. Never enter a password below 15 words.

2. Add special words to your password, such as:! @ # $% ^ & * () _ +} {] [Etc.

3. Create a pattern of passwords manually, then enter the password as a pattern such as: My name is Pappu, my GF's name is Samira (these names are given just for coincidence)  Now if I give this as my password PappuSamira it would be foolish. Never give such a password. What is your favorite number you haven't thought of before? Like my 2 so I will give 2 to P then my password is 2a22uSamira but if you want to give it then I will not recommend it to you because I want more security. So this time I will give some special words in front of, behind, in the middle of this password. Because it was said earlier that password cannot be given below 15 words. So I will add something with 2a22uSamira, one before Pappu> 2a22u! He gave a. Because  ! These 2 words are used to press Shift 1 and 2, then you have the advantage to remember. Then the password is  ! @ 2a22uSamira  , this time I will put Pappu and Samira between these 2 words to remember. So the password is  ! @ 2a22u + Samira But we have to give one more character since our target is 15 characters so we have one at the end of our password? I'll have my password  ! A 2a22u + Samira? Now you say remembering your password is too much trouble? I'm not saying you spell password in this pattern, I just gave it to you. Make your own pattern.

I hope you like it, if you like it, comment on it, if you don't like it, comment on it. Because your comment inspires us, your comment teaches us to think anew.
