When seeking advice on how to build a career, you need to know who the knowledge giver is. Surely you don't go to the shoemaker for tea and breakfast, of course you go to a food hotel, right? - Now back to my own context. You see, from above, many people think that I am a big security specialist or your tech guy, that's not the case at all. Writing tech articles with the help of two or four Google is not a big miracle. Believe me, maybe in 6 months you will be able to write better in this sector than me.
But when it comes to being a security specialist, being a pro hacker, these things will test you. Remember, you won't find any shortcuts or ways to swallow a bottle of syrup. You can't be a hacker even with a course. You will need your experience, all basic knowledge of computer and IT, programming, and different thinking.
If you ask me this question directly, "Brother, how can I be a hacker?" The answer is, "I don't know." What to learn if you want to be a hacker, I do not know. How you will earn from this sector or whether any career will be made in it, I do not know. - I may write answers that look like the correct answer, but they will not be written from my experience, I have to write with the help of Google. I'm not a hacker, so I don't know the 100% correct answer to all your questions.
So I know? - Well, I study computer and IT all the time. Computers, cyber security, operating systems, some programming languages, web servers, Linux, etc. have a fairly basic knowledge. Basically I can say a writer or blogger, so I can write essays on any topic. And in this article I am going to write about the misconceptions that work among us about learning hacking.
How to be a hacker?
The biggest misconception among us is that we think that if an experienced person is asked, he will show us a shortcut from his experience on how to easily become a successful hacker. This idea was in my own mind at one time, tell me if I blame you alone. Around 2010/11, I thought I had become a huge computer guy. I can now learn hacking or become a programmer if I want to or start building my own custom website. I just need a shiny direction.
And I got frustrated in just a few days. Although I was able to get Kenona Basic from many places, I could not find a clear cut road. I was just jumping from one subject to another. I couldn't stand still. The problem was I hadn't started to realize the truth yet. And the truth is, the clear path I was looking for meant that the shortcut I was trying to hit didn't really exist. The truth is that to reach where I wanted to be or where I wanted to be, I needed to gather knowledge and experience year after year.
You can take a course for thousands of dollars, but believe me, that course alone will not get you anywhere. As I said before, the secret of being a hacker is not hidden in any book, any article or any course but you need some comprehensive knowledge. Which are achieved in different ways from different projects. It's time for this.
Now many will ask me, "Brother, your technical knowledge is much better, so guide us in that way, then we can be like you, right"? - In fact, you can't go too far in another's way. I have already said that there is no step-by-step method here that I have shown you that you go from here to there then learn it then do it and so on. Rather, the road to becoming a security expert or a hacker is a lot like a spider's web. There is no straight line here, but hundreds of short lines will create your own store of knowledge.
I started my journey with HTML as a child. After learning the basic HTML, I realized that I could not create a webpage yet. This means that it is not as beautiful as it can be seen on the internet websites. I didn't know then how to host the site, what is CMS, what is PHP. As a result, I gave up easily. Then I started dealing with the operating system, I wanted to create my own operating system. Think about it, the child who does not know HTML well yet, will make the operating system.
Then I found online tools like Blogger and Wapka where websites could be created without writing the original code. Then I found WordPress and started trying WordPress. In the meanwhile I got stuck with many problems related to WordPress site and server so I started learning to manage the server. Then I fell in love with networking, Linux, various cloud software to manage the server. And the hand of writing was already there, so I started to know the new tech terms and started to write them neatly. In this way, a lot of things come under control with cyber security.
Now if you want to follow a path like mine, will you first learn HTML like me, then create a website on Blogger, then come to WordPress, then learn PHP, then become a server admin. Now you dream of hacking the gates of big banks, believe me walking on my way you will find nothing but getting lost in the foggy forest.
The truth is, you have to keep learning. You may have skipped learning JavaScript today, moving to a different programming language or a new project. Don’t think, learning earlier was a waste of time for you. Whenever you learn something or take a different path to learn, you can’t even tell when and how that knowledge will help you. I have never done anything specific with HTML, CSS. But they have helped me tremendously in various projects. So you can say that no acquired knowledge is in vain, it can act as your life saver at the right time.
So what is hacking?
This is where we have a great lack of ideas. Hacking in a movie is not something you see or want to do in your mind. It is not a specific thing or hacking is not possible with any specific knowledge. Learning hacking is not a mantra but gaining a good knowledge of many IT staff at once. See, a programmer and a hacker can be the same person in terms of knowledge. But the thinking of a programmer and a hacker sets the two apart.
Programmers learn a variety of programming languages, have a good knowledge of operating systems, play with Linux, have knowledge of hardware, or ensure network and server security. Hackers also have to gather this same knowledge. But in the way of programmers, how can such and such software work in such and such a way and on the other hand, hackers think about what mistakes can be made in that programming code, what mistakes can programmers make while writing code. Finding these wrong, they try to bypass the system. So you see, both have the same type of knowledge, only the thoughts and the goal are different.
The point is, you have to have a clear idea of how things work. And when you gain a lot more clear knowledge, you start thinking about how that system can be cracked. Of course there are no specific instructions, you have to move forward with time.
The secret to learning hacking?
So by now you must understand why I said that there is no secret to learning hacking. Everything is open, you just have to move forward according to your interests. You can start learning different programming languages.
If you don't like one, you can move to another. Gain a good knowledge of Linux, start learning the basics of networking, start small projects by learning raspberry pie or arduino, learn how web security works, start building websites, build web apps, master servers. You can start, you can do cryptography, you can learn different frameworks, you can learn database programming, you can start studying different operating systems and kernels, you can start Android app development. - You see, how big is this learning list instantly? This way thousands of words will run out but the list will not end.
Now many people will say, I want to be a hacker and hack bank payment gateway or I want to find access to any website error, but there is no mention in your learning list. Hey brother, the word "hacking" is not mentioned in the list above. But when it comes to real hacking, these various knowledge will come in handy as your hacking tools.
So what do you understand? There is no such thing as a secret to learning magic or hacking. This knowledge has to be mastered by every program, hackers just apply them differently. This means that hackers and programmers use the same knowledge to solve different types of problems. The programmer thinks about how to make his software more secure, how to add certain features, how to make it easier for users to use. On the other hand, hackers think about how to crack the password of that app, bypass security, find the errors.
Hacking is not a special thing
The character portrayed as a hacker in the movie is so powerful that he can instantly enter any system, crack the system, gain access to any device or instantly lose millions of dollars from a bank account. But the reality is completely different. Even if a hacker is a hacker, he may not have an idea on many things. A network specialist will understand networking well but his knowledge of any special programming language may be zero.
It can take many years for a hacker to perform a hack attack. Because he has to collect data to perform hack attacks, find footprints, find goodness, and these are not instant tasks. It's like sitting on a fishing rod, you don't even know when the fish will come and stumble.
Yes, hacking is not a special thing. I want to be a hacker with a lot of IT knowledge, and it's not specific knowledge. Any IT related knowledge, maybe you can take screenshots, it will also be useful in case of hacking. You need to know a lot of different things and it will take time.
So what is the real thing?
The real thing about learning hacking is to keep learning, to keep learning different things, to acquire different types of IT knowledge. And the most important thing is that whatever you go to learn, you must learn it with fun. You do Android app development and make a website, you have to have fun creating it. And only with this fun learning can you finally turn this learning journey into a stage year after year.
How to get started? No, not at all, I don't have to learn programming in the beginning to learn hacking. It's more fun to learn something now that you focus on. Suppose you want to find errors on the website. Since you are thinking about website hacking, you need to start mastering the language that can be used to build a website. So start building websites, deal with different frameworks and CMS, find out how PHP works, how JavaScript works, how the server works. Then keep learning, how to find errors with any language, how to find errors on the server, how the database works or how to find errors in it, and so on.
So you see, when it comes to website hacking, there is a lot of knowledge behind it. And once you know everything together, you can launch a hack attack on any site. So it is easy to understand how closely one knowledge is connected with another knowledge. Hundreds of sub-categories will come up on a single topic and it can take years to master them. So you understand, this is not a straight road, but a large collection of many roads.
Now you can't find these things simply by doing a Google search or taking a course with such a big brother. You need to set goals then you need to know what you need to know to reach that goal, then you need to start learning them. It's not that you become a pro hacker after swallowing a 5 course DVD. You can't learn more than the basics from any course or hacking tutorial.
So what is one thing? Yes, there is no key to learning hacking or a step by step guide. There is no step by step guide. You don't have to depend on anyone to learn hacking. You have to set goals, then you have to start gaining knowledge, if you don't like one, you have to run after the other. And yes, you have to master Google search, if you don't know how to search, how do you learn? Once you go, you don't need a course to learn what you need to do to meet your goals, you can find out everything yourself. All information is available on the Internet.
So, no, it doesn't have any clear or simple shortcuts, just print it out. There is no one and only book, course, website, blog for learning hacking. All you need is a lot of knowledge on computers and IT staff and unique ideas on how to perform hacking. Along with that you have to learn programming, you also have to master the hardware. And last but not least, the headline made you read this article. Only then can you move forward! Remember, hacking is not about building doors but finding ways to break down doors.
